Timothy, “Tim” was born in Franklin County, Ohio on December 22, 1977. After difficult beginnings, at age 8, he found his forever family with Joseph and Pauline Zsigray in Elyria, Ohio. Later, his family expanded when his stepfather, Charles Sherry, entered his life.
Tim was educated in Elyria City Schools, Ohio State School for the Blind, and Parmadale. His faith in God was nourished and strengthened at Sacred Heart Church in Elyria. For brief periods, he was employed at Lowe’s and Marc’s.
Tim was a client of Murray Ridge Center, where he received excellent services and made many friends who were important to him throughout his life. As an adult, Tim lived in a number of group homes, the latest being ACE (Allied Community Endeavors) in Oberlin. The helpers and friends there were special to him, and he loved living there. He made cleaning his special interest (homes, offices, cars, etc.).
All through life, Tim was known for being helpful and loyal to his friends and family. The struggles and challenges of his disabilities did not destroy his spirit. He enjoyed music, TV, movies, current events, family events, shopping, cleaning, and helping with indoor and outdoor tasks.
The family is grateful to all of the helpers and friends who supported Tim over the years. They are too numerous to mention, but they know who they are.
Tim is survived by his mother, Pauline Sherry; brothers, Donald (Sarah) Zsigray, Robert Zsigray, David Zsigray, Michael (Jing) Sherry (stepbrother); sisters, Jamie Turner, Rosemary (Gary) Tompkins (stepsister); step-grandmother, LaRue Sherry; many extended family members from the Zsigray, Gargasz, and the Sherry families, many friends and caregivers.
Tim was preceded in death by his father, Joseph R. Zsigray Jr.; stepfather, Charles J. Sherry; grandparents, Joseph and Doris Zsigray, Frances and Robert Woodings; step-grandfather, Gervase Sherry.
