Shelby Maggard

Shelby Maggard (nee Griffin), age 85, passed into peace surrounded by her family.

Shelby, loved her church and loved cooking, and will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Her grandchildren were the light of her life, and she cherished watching them grow up.

Shelby is survived by her beloved husband, Ira Maggard Sr; her loving children, Carolyn Kucbel (Jim), Ira Maggard Jr (Denise), Thomas Maggard (Laure), Paula White, Brenda Preston (Jeff); her beloved grandchildren, James Kucbel, Brian Kucbel, Timothy Maggard, Donald Maggard, Thomas Maggard, Ashley Barnovsky, Daniel Horning, Carolyn MacDonald, Nathan Horning, Cody Preston, Shelbee Preston, Kylee Trautwein and Nicholas Preston; 17 great-grandchildren; her siblings, Ray Griffin, Brenda Vest, Linda Yonts, Marita Adams and Jody Parker; and her longtime friend Bessie Fraley. She is preceded in death by her loving parents, James and Lottie Griffin (nee Hamilton); her brothers Robert and Paul Griffin; and her sister, Vera Duncan.

Visitation to be held 6-8pm Wednesday, February 9, 2022 at Wyers-Bollinger Funeral Chapel, 2900 N. Ridge Rd, Elyria, OH 44035. Funeral Service 10am Thursday, February 10, 2022 at West Ridge Enterprise Baptist Church, 46280 Telegraph Rd, Amherst, with burial to follow at Ridge Hill Memorial Park.
