Ruby F. Hawks

October 23, 1935 — March 18, 2023

Ruby Francis Hawks, age 87, of Elyria, passed from this earth into the arms of Jesus on Saturday, March 18, 2023. She was born on October 23,1935 in Montcalm, West Virginia to Shelton and Ruth Taylor, née Bailey. She loved working alongside her husband of 70 years at Hawks Greenhouse, which they began together in 1986. A hard worker, she enjoyed planting and being among the flowers almost as much as she loved talking to all the customers who came in to shop. Some of her greatest joys came in seeing the generations of her family gather together in the greenhouse. Francis loved the Lord and was a faithful servant to Him. She is now joyfully walking with her Savior in the most beautiful gardens in Heaven.

Ruby was preceded in death by her parents, Shelton and Ruth; and her sister, Nancy Crabb.

Ruby is survived by her loving husband, James Willard Hawks; son, Tony (Beverly) Hawks; daughter, Jane (Jerry) Hamrick; son, Daniel (Rebecca) Hawks; grandchildren, Danielle Hawks, Matthew (Emily) Hawks, Jerrad (Amanda) Hamrick, Janelle (Chris) Green, and James (Sarah) Hawks; great-grandchildren, Grace Green, Tessa and Asher Hawks; brothers, Wes Taylor, Larry Bailey, Jerry Bailey, David Bailey, and Eugene Burgess.

An Open House Visitation will be held on Sunday, March 26 at Hawks Greenhouse, 2810 N Ridge Rd, Elyria, from 2:00 - 4:00 pm, with family gathering first at 1:00 pm.
