Ronald R Gardner

Ronald R. Gardner “Ron” passed away surrounded by loved ones on July 16, 2026, at the age of 79. Born on December 12, 1946, in Westlake, Ohio, Ron was one of the cherished children of Julius and Mildred (Barnekow) Gardner.

Ron proudly served his country in the United States Army from 1969 to 1971. In 1980, he married the love of his life, Beverly S. (Marshall) Gardner, with whom he shared 46 wonderful years of marriage. He spent many years as a groundskeeper at Creekwood Golf Course, where his strong work ethic and dedication were appreciated by all who knew him.

Ron had a lifelong passion for golf and was an avid collector of science fiction movies, amassing an impressive collection over the years. He also enjoyed cheering on his favorite Cleveland sports teams, the Cleveland Guardians (formerly the Indians) and the Cleveland Cavaliers.

Ron will be lovingly remembered by his devoted wife Beverly S. Gardner; his daughters, Emily Ann Gardner, and Dawn (Jeff) Wheeler; his beloved grandchildren, Jeffery, Andrea, Alison and Colleen; brother Donald (Jackie) Gardner; his longtime best friend Dale Sandvic; and many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends who will miss him greatly.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, Jules “Sonny,” Bill and Tim Gardner; and his sister, Judy Baratko.

In keeping with Ron’s wishes, no public services will be held. A private interment with military honors will take place at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery at a later date.
