Olga H. Wilhelmy

Olga H. Wilhelmy, 95, (nee Dirda) of Sheffield Village died peacefully on Wednesday, October 27, 2021 at O’Neill Healthcare in North Ridgeville.

She was born on July 26, 1926 in Lorain and graduated in 1944 from Lorain High School. She had been a life-long Sheffield Village resident and member of St. Vincent De Paul Catholic Church.

Olga was a beautiful and loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She loved dogs, was an avid reader, enjoyed crafting with friends along with cooking and baking for her family. No one ever left hungry or without a goody bag from her kitchen.  She was a good friend to many and a kind and generous neighbor. Frequent trips to Holmes County and Millersburg were favorite places buying cheese and Amish baked goods.

She worked as a comptroller in Cleveland before starting her family and later as a waitress at McGarvey’s, Brown Derby, Lorain Country Club and Lakewood Country Club until she retired.

She is survived by her daughter, Karen A Rodgers ( John) of McKinney, Texas; her son, Kurt R. Wilhemy (Candice) of Wakeman; two grandsons, Ryan M. Rodgers of Wylie, Texas and Nicholas Wilhelmy (Devin) of Brooklyn, Ohio; and great grand-children Fiona Wilhelmy, Donovan and Evander Johnson.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years Roy, in 2010; parents Damian and Anna Dirda ( Mihalcik) ; brothers John Vorabetz and Michael Dirda; and sister Mary Shamine.
