Norval L. Stout

Norval L. Stout, 86, passed away Tuesday, August 15, 2023 at The Woods of French Creek Nursing Home in Avon, Ohio.  He was born on February 27, 1937 in Fink Creek, West Virginia to Jesse R. Stout and Mary Woodson Stout. He graduated from Weston High School in 1956, and served in the Army from 1956 to 1958.  He went to Welding Tech School in 1960.  He worked for The Hope Gas Company in West Virginia and the Moto Truck Company in Cleveland, Ohio.  He retired from B.F. Goodrich, Avon Lake, with 29 years of service as a Maintenance Technician.

Norval was an avid hunter of deer and turkey.  He was a lifetime member of the North America Hunting Club and the National Rifle Association.  He was an avid bowler and bowled on two leagues for many years.  He enjoyed watching Cleveland sports. He also loved landscaping and gardening around his house.  He was a member of the Lake Shore United Methodist Church in Avon Lake, Ohio, where he helped with lawn service for many years, as well as ushering, serving dinners and assisting with rummage sales. Norval enjoyed being with his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.

Norval is survived by his wife of 63 years, Roberta (Bobbi Jo) Propst Stout; daughters, Kimberly Ogle (Frank) of Avon Lake, OH, Lisa Stout of Sheffield Lake, OH, Sheila Sennhenn of LaGrange, OH; son, Greg Stout of Middle Town, NY; five grandchildren, Sarah Wilson (Derrek), Rachel Ogle, Tim Ogle, Abigail Stout and Austin Sennhenn;  two great-grandchildren, Peyton Jo and Easton Wilson;  sisters, Alice Trubach (Dave) of Sheffield Lake, OH and Fay Bunch of Albuquerque, NM;  brothers, Leo (Ray) Stout of Washington, MA, Vincent Stout and wife, Shirley, of Sheffield Village, OH, and Jesse R. Stout, Jr. and wife, Betty, of Sheffield Lake, OH; sister-in-law, Betty Stout.  He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Norval was preceded in death by a baby son, Jeffrey Scott; his father, Jesse Stout; mother, Mary Stout; sister, Arnetta Peterson; and brothers, Snowden Stout and Burhl Woodson.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Lake Shore United Methodist Church or the Alzheimers Association.  Donations to the Alzheimers Assocation may be made on line by clicking here.

Visitation will be held at the Lake Shore United Methodist Church at 33119 Electric Blvd in Avon Lake, OH on Monday, August 21, 2023 from 11:30 am - 12:30 pm, with a Service beginning at 12:30 pm, officiated by Pastor Robert Welch.  Burial will follow at Resthaven Memory Gardens, 3700 Center Road in Avon, OH at 2:00 pm.
