Nicholas Antonio Gonzalez

Nicolas Antonio Gonzalez, 74, of Elyria , OH passed away peacefully of chronic illnesses on June 7, 2022.

Nicolas (Nick) was born in Utuado, PR in 1947, and was raised in Lorain, OH. After graduating high school, he served in the Vista program before joining the U.S. Marines and serving in the Vietnam War. He returned back to OH after retiring, to spend his time with his family members. He was an avid Cleveland Sports fan and Ohio State Buckeyes fan, and he loved doing crossword puzzles. He was a member of St. Anthony Church in Lorain. He prayed the rosary daily and also had a special devotion for St. Therese the Little Flower. He will be remembered for his kindness, generosity, welcoming smile, and love for his family. Wherever he went, be it banks, restaurants, pharmacies, dr. offices, etc, he made everyone feel as if they were the most important person in the room. His positive attitude and smile was contagious. He treated each of his nieces and nephews as if they were his favorite and he was the favorite uncle for many.

Nick was preceded in death by his brothers, Luis A. Velez, Jose L. Velez, and Angel A. Gonzalez, and his parents.

Nick will be missed by his siblings, Gloria M. Badillo, Rosa M. Torres, Jose A. Gonzalez, Lydia M. Flores, Carmen G. Moyet, Miguel A. Gonzalez, and Ana R. Gonzalez, and many nieces and nephews.
