Love D Walker

Archbishop Love D. Walker, 86, of Oberlin, a lifelong member of The Almighty Church, answered our Lord’s call to come home on January 12, 2024, surrounded by his adoring family. He was born on the 2nd of May 1937 in Girard, Ohio. He was a self-employed long-haul truck driver, operating under “Love Express”, supporting his wife of 65 years, Calvesta Walker, and their 7 children. Later, driving for Norwalk Furniture and D & D Rides, LLC.  He enjoyed spending time with family, being on the open road, and, most of all, reading his Bible.

Love leaves to cherish his memory, his loving & devoted wife of 65 years, Calvesta Walker (nee McKinney); 4 sons, Richard (Roslyn) Walker, Duane Walker, Rev. Christopher (Maria) Walker, and Sean Walker; 2 daughters, Barbara Stansberry and Angela (Daryl) Melson; 17 grandchildren; 45 great-grandchildren; 1 great-grand dog; and many other friends and relatives.

Love was preceded in death by his parents, Lorenzo Sr. & Pincy Mae (nee Tarver) Walker; brothers, John Joseph Walker and Lorenzo Walker Jr.; sister, Nellie Walker Caver; son, Charles Walker Sr.; daughter’s-in-Love: Margarita Gibbs and Angela Walker; grandson, J. Elliott Walker; and granddaughter, Calvesta Walker.

Services will be held on Friday, January 19, beginning at 11:00 am at Christ Temple Apostolic Church, 370 W. Lincoln St, Oberlin, Ohio 44074. with Rev. Christopher J. Walker of Abundant Life Church, KY, Officiating.
