Louis A Fischer

Louis Anthony Fischer, 88, of Elyria, left this earth to be with the Lord Sunday, January 4, 2026, at The Village of St. Edward in Wadsworth.

He was born August 30, 1937, in Lorain, Ohio and was an Elyria resident for over 60 years. He was a Lorain High graduate that went on to have a 35-year career at B.F. Goodrich in Avon Lake as a certified boiler operator.

Louis enjoyed many seasons of hunting and fishing with his Elyria and Lorain buddies. He was also an avid gardener. He enjoyed coaching and following sports with his sons and grandsons. During retirement, Louis and wife, Rose were snowbirds in the Sarasota, Florida area where they enjoyed the beautiful beaches for many years.

Louis is survived by his beloved wife of 66 years, Rosemarie Fischer; son, John Fischer; daughter-in-law, Robin Fischer; grandsons, Noah Fischer and Chase Fischer; great-grandchildren, Naomi, Judah and Grace Fischer; son, Tony Fischer; daughter-in-law, Kristin Fischer; grandsons, Ryan Fischer and Luke Fischer.

He was the son of Louis Anthony and Helen June Fischer.

The family would like to thank the wonderful staff of The Village of St. Edward and Northeast Ohio Hospice for their expert care of Louis in his final year.

The family will celebrate his life privately on Lake Erie and in the West Virginia woods when the weather breaks this spring.
