Linda M. Pizzoferrato, 68 of Elyria passed away on Tuesday, July 14, 2026 after suffering and battling through several health issues. Linda was an amazing woman. Even after being confined to a wheelchair following an accident, she never let that slow her down. In her earlier years she took on the roll of raising all of her eight siblings. Linda dropped out of school to do that and then later returned to earn her GED, and then became an LPN, and even after her accident she went back to school again to become an RN but finished just two classes shy of achieving that goal. She adopted and raised four special needs children. To say that she was strong, loving, caring, and devoted truly falls short of adequately describing this amazing woman. She had many talents and loved Harley Davidsons and the Wall of Thunder. For years, Linda also coordinated dinners at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Amherst. Her motto was PMA! - Positive Mental Attitude - and it showed in everything she did. Linda is going to be greatly missed by her loving family and friends.
Linda is survived by three of her children – Ernest, Crystal and April Pizzoferrato; her siblings, Richard Pizzoferrato (Maggie), Michael Pizzoferrato (Edith), Joyce Devore, Judith Pizzoferrato, Darla Wise (Malcolm), Janice Fichtel, Margherita Srihari, and Lawrence Westfall; along with several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Joanne Pizzoferrato; her son, Earl Pizzoferrato; and siblings, John, Daniel and Gloria.
The family will receive friends at the Wyers-Bollinger Funeral Chapel, 2900 N. Ridge Rd., Sheffield Twp. on Friday, July 17 from 6:00 - 8:00pm. The Funeral Mass will take place on Saturday, July 18 at 9:30 am at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 200 St. Joseph Dr., Amherst, followed by the interment at Evergreen Cemetery in South Amherst.
