Kathryn “Kathy” Lee Geisel (nee Hill), 74, of Lorain, Ohio, went home peacefully with the Lord on the evening of Monday, August 10th, 2026, surrounded by her loving family.
She was born October 17th, 1951, to Earl and Doris Hill in Lorain, Ohio where she was a lifelong resident. Kathy spent her life faithfully taking care of her family, which included caring for her grandchildren, all of whom she greatly adored.
Kathy will be remembered for her love of Jesus, quality time spent with family, which included making delicious homemade meals and desserts, her infectious laugh and sense of humor. Her baked beans and Texas sheetcake were legendary. Her favorite holiday was Christmas, for both the decor and to celebrate the birth of Jesus, and also for her love of shopping and wrapping gifts.
She enjoyed word search puzzles, Christmas Hallmark movies, The Waltons reruns, The Gameshow network, and trips to Amish country during the autumn season. She previously attended Church on the North Coast in Lorain, where she strengthened her faith.
Kathy is survived by her children, Melissa (Isaac) Ortiz, Gary (Lisa) Geisel, and Tim Geisel; grandchildren, Christian (Yoseline), Sarah, Jennifer (Tommy), and Courtney; great-grandchildren, Evelyn and Elise; and siblings, Dennis Hill, William Hill and Jane Hill.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Gary, of 44 years, whom she dearly missed; brothers, Bob, Albert, and Joey; sister, Diane Carter; granddaughter, Savanah; and adorably-clingy cat, Ginger.
There will be a memorial/viewing on Sunday, August 16th, 2026 from 4:00 – 7:00 pm at Harvest Christian Church, 626 Lorain Blvd, Elyria, Ohio 44035. A funeral service will be held on Monday August 17th, with family viewing from 10:00 - 11:00 am, and the funeral service at 11:00 am at Harvest Christian Church, 626 Lorain Blvd., Elyria, Ohio, followed by a procession to Ridge Hill Memorial Park, 44805 N Ridge Rd, Amherst, Ohio 44001.
Our family would like to thank the nurses on 3 West, the palliative team, and the hospice team at the Avon Cleveland Clinic for the amazing care of our mother.
Kathryn will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
