Karen L. McGhee, age 73, passed away Wednesday, July 14, 2021, at UH Elyria Medical Center. She was born September 21, 1947, in Elyria, the daughter of the late Anthony and Phyllis (Coffin) Mack. Karen was a retired Xray Tech for Oberlin Clinic and Allen Memorial Hospital with over 20 years of service. For many years, Karen was a dispatcher for LifeCare Ambulance, where she also worked in clerical and was a van driver. She was kind, caring, generous and friendly to all she met. She was an Indians fan and she loved her family.
Karen is survived by Joseph, her husband of 53 years; daughters, Kelly (Jeff) Edleman, and Terri (Brad) Kernya; son, B.J. (Jessica) McGhee; sisters, Janice (John) Suzow and Cheryl (Brian) Morris; step-sister, Linda (Jim) Pajer; step-brother, Rick (Char) Martz; step-sister-in-law, Nancy (Tom) Szabo; grandchildren, Dylan (Jessica), Haley, Grant, Marissa, Devan (Lindsey); great-grandchildren, Alice, Sophia, and Jack. Also survived by many nieces and nephews and loving out of state relatives. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her step-mother, Joyce Mack, and step-brother, Jeff Martz.
According to Karen’s wishes there will be no service. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association.
