June L Collings

June L. Collings (nee West), age 90 of Elyria, passed away peacefully on Friday, December 1, 2023. She was born in Leachville, Arkansas on June 2, 1933.  When she was about 10 years old, her family moved to Indiana, where she lived until she married Gene Collings on July 21, 1951.  In 1957, they moved to Minnesota, and then settled in Elyria in 1967.  She was a member of Christ Church in Columbia Station and was a school teacher for 25 years at Temple Schools in Elyria. June enjoyed reading, and loved spending time with her family.

June is survived by her loving husband of over 72 years, Gene; sons, Dean (Susan) Collings, Dave (Sharon) Collings, and Daniel Collings; daughter, Darla (Pete) Niedzielski; 12 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren; 6 great great grandchildren; and sisters, Bobbi Cole and Iris Tillinghast.  She was preceded in death by her parents, Cromwell and Nanette West; 2 brothers; and 7 sisters.

The Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, December 5 at Noon at Christ Church, 23080 Royalton Rd., Columbia Station, where the family will receive friends from 10:00 am until noon.  The burial will take place at Brookdale Cemetery in Elyria.
