James “Jim” Timothy Gamble, 66, of Lorain, passed away peacefully at his home on Sunday, October 26, 2025, following complications from Parkinson’s disease.
Born in Los Angeles, Jim spent most of his life in Lorain County, where he built a life filled with laughter, family, and hard work. In his younger years, he worked as a bartender before beginning a long and dedicated career at Thompson Aluminum Casting, where he eventually retired as a Quality Control Manager.
Jim was a talented handyman who could fix just about anything—from cars to household projects—and he was always willing to lend a hand. He enjoyed playing softball, cheering for the Denver Broncos, Cleveland Cavaliers, and Cleveland Indians, and savoring good Mexican food with an occasional cold beer.
Above all, Jim loved spending time with his family. He especially enjoyed swimming with his children and grandchildren and relaxing in the pool with a beer in hand, surrounded by the people he loved most.
Known for his humor, warmth, and easygoing spirit, Jim had a gift for making people laugh. His fun-loving nature and big heart will be remembered by everyone who knew him.
Jim is survived by his beloved wife of nearly 46 years, Cheryl (née Ryncarz); his children, Justin, Nicholas, and Nichole Gamble; grandchildren, Hunter and Rowan Gamble; and siblings, Melvin Gamble Jr. (Pamela), Carole Niemeyer (Rick), and Candice Fremouw (Monte). He is also survived by nieces Shonnelle Gamble, Stephanie Gamble, Raquel Gamble, Kristina Gamble, and Heather Hess Gamble; nephews Melvin Gamble III, Matthew Gamble, Shaun Gamble, and Michael Hess; and several great-nieces and great-nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Melvin and Margaret Gamble, and his brother, Thomas Gamble.
Family and friends will be received on Thursday, October 30, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:15 p.m. at the Wyers-Bollinger Funeral Chapel, 2900 N. Ridge Rd., Sheffield Township, where a short service will be held at 7:15 p.m.
Jim will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who were fortunate to know him.
