Edward Dale Carte
June 13, 1948 – December 29, 2025
Dale passed away December 29, 2025 at his home.
To know our father was to love him. Dale never met a stranger and had a way of lighting up any room he entered with his joy for life and infectious laugh. A laugh he was well known for.
He truly was one of a kind, not just a phrase, but a truth in the most memorable and meaningful way. Dales dedication to both his career and family was unmatched. He never missed a single day of work, all while never owning an alarm clock, an example of his reliability, discipline and character.
Family was the center of his life. He loved deeply and unconditionally, and he showed that love in every possible way, through his steady presence, his quiet strength, his generosity and his unwavering support. He was the kind of man who made others feel safe, valued and truly cared for, simply by being himself. Dale did not have many hobbies because his greatest joy was simply being with family. He cherished every moment together and boasted about us at every opportunity to do so.
He found joy in the simple things, offering kindness freely to everyone he met. His patience and gentle spirit were constants. There will never be another Dale Carte.
His passing has left a deep hole in our hearts, a pain we were are blessed to carry because it comes from a lifetime of wonderful memories and unconditional love.
He wrote his loved ones the most beautiful poems and letters. Always showing how deeply he cared. He left us with a hand written note he carried in his wallet “To my daughter’s, I can’t promise to be here for the rest of your life. But I promise to love you for the rest of mine.”
He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Vickie; his daughters, Christy (Tom) and Jamie (Justin); his grandchildren, Shandale, Shane, Kayla, Kobe-Luke, Maverick, Keegan, and Kase; and great grandchildren, Anthony, Bryce and Corbin. He was preceded in death by his precious daughter, Michelle.
Wyers-Bollinger Funeral Chapel is honored to be assisting the family at this time.
