Dorcus B Grissom

Dorcus B. Grissom, 73, loving wife, mother, and grandmother of Elyria, Ohio, passed away at home unexpectedly on February 12, 2026. She was born in Winona, WV, on May 2, 1952 to the late Duey McMillion and Jaunita McMillion (Comer). Dorcus graduated from Hubbard High School in 1970 and then worked various jobs. She married her long-time friend, John Grissom, in 1991. Upon becoming a mother, Dorcus decided to become a homemaker and manage the household, which she did until her husband's passing in 2020. Soon after, she began to focus on the needs of friends and family, giving her a renewed purpose in life.

Dorcus enjoyed reading, spending time with her friends and family, and cooking for others.

She is survived by her brother, Donnie McMillion; son, Jon Grissom; and two grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Duey McMillion and Jaunita McMillion (Comer), and husband, John M. Grissom.
