Delores A Light

Delores A. Light (nee Overkirk) 79 of Sheffield Lake went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, December 16, 2025. She was a big-hearted lady who easily made friends with anyone she met. Delores loved her church – First Baptist Church of Sheffield Lake – where she taught Sunday School, spent hours cleaning, and was an extremely devoted member. However, once church was over on Sundays, she would go home and spend the rest of her day doing what she and her late husband loved doing together – watching football. She enjoyed watching any football, college or professional. And you better not interrupt her while the games were on! Delores also loved collecting eagles and snowmen. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

Delores is survived by her children, Kimberly Conrad (Paul) and Jim Light (Kim); and grandchildren, Logan and Austin Conrad, and James Light (Karena). She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, James in 2015; and her parents, Francis and Jeanette Overkirk.

A graveside service will be held at Resthaven Memory Gardens in Avon at a later date.
