Brian W. "Big Dog" Dawson 

Brian W. “Big Dog” Dawson, 48 of Elyria, passed away on Monday, May 31, 2021. He was born on July 17, 1972 in Pittsburgh, PA and was a #1 Steelers fan as well as a Cavs and Indians fan. Brian graduated in the 1990 class from Brookside High School and attended LCCC for broadcasting studies. He worked at Hills for 3 years and at ServiSteel/D-Coil for 18 years. He was a former softball player and took his skills to coaching LLN baseball as well as flag football and tackle football for 18 years. Brian also was a big fan of Van Halen and watching movies. He was a beloved husband, father, brother, uncle, and son who made friends wherever he went.


Brian is survived by his loving wife of 25 years, Stacy (nee Myers); children, Marissa, Stephen, and Alec Dawson; brothers, Joseph J. Dawson, Jr., Kevin P. Dawson, and Daniel R. Dawson (Rebecca Harrington-Dawson); in-laws, Stephen W. and Sandra M. Myers; and his beloved pets, Max and Lucy.


He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Patricia Dawson; and a brother, David L. Dawson.


A Celebration of Brian’s life for close family and friends will be held on June 26 from 4-8pm at the private home of Brian and Stacy Dawson in Elyria.
