Betty R Bessette

Betty R. Bessette (nee Perine) 70 of Elyria, passed away at the Wesleyan Village on Sunday, September 27, 2026. She loved to travel all over the United States in her younger years and loved sharing stories of her adventures. Betty loved watching movies and would do so for hours with her family. She also loved music and singing. Bety was full of life and was quite a character. She loved her family and although not perfect, she did all that she could for them and was the best mom that she could be. She will certainly be missed by those who loved her.

Betty is survived by her loving children, Lindsay Smith and Michael Wittreich (Berenice); grandchildren, Jacob, Harmony, Justin, Jackson, Joseph, Nicolas, and Leonardo; great grandson, Jacob, Jr.; and a brother, James Perine (Kelly). She was preceded in death by her parents, Gene and Laura Perine; brothers, Larry and Glen Perine; and a sister, Rose Goldauskas.

A celebration of Betty’s life will take place Friday, October 2 from 3:00 - 8:00 pm at 913 North Lake Street, Amherst Ohio. There will be a balloon release at 6:00 pm.
