In Loving Memory of
Awilda Palos, age 72, passed away peacefully on December 19, 2025, surrounded by love. She was born on November 14, 1953, in Guánica, Puerto Rico, where her life of strength, devotion, and deep family roots began.
Awilda later moved to Brooklyn, New York, and eventually made her home in Lorain, Ohio, where she spent many cherished years building a life centered on love and family. She passed away in Cincinnati, Ohio, leaving behind memories that will forever live in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
Awilda shared 56 loving years of marriage with her devoted husband, Joseph Palos Sr. She was a proud and caring mother to her daughters Teresa Bowens (Toriano Bowens Sr.), Tabitha Raglin, and her adopted daughter, Lashunda Huel, as well as her sons Joseph Palos Jr. (Rebecca Palos) and Luis Palos (Lisa Palos).
She was a cherished grandmother to Alyvia Frazier, Joseph (Anthony) Palos, Toriano Bowens Jr., Theresan Bowens, London (Naji) Raglin, and Nathan Palos, and a loving great-grandmother to Easton Frazier.
Awilda is also lovingly remembered by her brothers and sisters: Ferdinand Garcia, Ramon (Chito) Garcia, Miguel (Titin) Garcia, Luis Garcia, Efrain Garcia, Norberto Garcia, Iran Garcia, Rogelia Rodriguez, Ramon Garcia Jr., Jerry Garcia, Carmen Lopez, and Henry Garcia, along with many extended family members and dear friends whose lives she touched.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ramon and Carmen Garcia; her brother, Jose Garcia Sr.; and her sister, Reina Garcia.
Awilda found joy in the simple, everyday moments—doing her word searches, shopping, and cooking meals for those she loved. She took pride in caring for her home, always making sure everything was just right. Above all else, her greatest joy was spending time with her family and friends.
All who knew Awilda knew that while she could be feisty, her heart was big, tender, and endlessly giving. She loved fiercely and without condition. If she could give you the moon, she would have.
