Ann Marie Woltman (nee Kurish) of Sheffield Lake, formerly of Canton, passed away on Friday, January 16, 2026. She was born May 8, 1935 in Lorain, Ohio to Helen (nee Malarik) and John Kurish from Czechoslovakia. She graduated Magn Cum Laude from Lorain High School in 1953, and was the first female student council president, winning a scholarship to Oberlin Business College. She graduated from Kent State in 1975, was a member of MENSA. Ann Marie married and moved to Canton, Ohio where she raised her family. She was a Past President of Ohio Secretarial Association and Past President of Canton Jaycees Auxiliary. Ann Marie was a licensed Social Worker for many years, sold insurance, and worked for a time at the Urban League. She was an active member of St. Thomas Catholic Church in Sheffield Lake, serving as a Eucharist Minister and Liturgical reader. In her spare time, she loved line dancing, roller skating, roller blading, skiing, going around to many festivals in the area, and traveling to many countries and taking the train to many of the destinations. Ann Marie also enjoyed keeping up with current events, especially with her nephew Edward when he would come over to help her out. Her family wants to especially thank her nephew Ed and his wife Kim, along with a niece Laura and the many friends who assisted her over the years.
Ann Marie is survived by her loving children, Chris Woltman (Anthony Cambria) of Downington, PA, Denise Bartlett (Jerry) of Seattle, WA, Karen Woltman of Chino Valley, AZ, and Mark Woltman (Nancy) of Chesapeake, VA; grandchildren, Nick Cambria and Adeline Cambria; along with many nieces, nephews, and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Helen Kurish; and siblings, Mary, Rose, Andrew, Leo, Sophia, and twins at birth.
The family will receive friends at the Wyers-Bollinger Funeral Chapel, 2900 N. Ridge Rd. E., Sheffield Twp. on Friday, January 23 from 4:00 - 7:00 pm. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Thomas the Apostle Church, 715 Harris Rd., Sheffield Lake on Saturday, January 24, 2026 at 10:00 am, followed by the burial at Calvary Cemetery, Lorain.
