Aiko Provoznik, 85, of Elyria, passed away Saturday, May 15, 2021.


Aiko was an active member of St. Vincent de Paul Church for many years. She was born in Japan and moved to the United States after marrying her husband, James Provoznik. They have been married for 68 years. Aiko loved to cook and taught herself how to be a great baker, making and decorating pies, cakes and cookies for her family. She also enjoyed, sewing, crocheting and flower gardening and arranging. She raised five children, and truly was a remarkable lady.


Aiko is survived by her loving husband, James; children, Barbara Provoznik, Mary Provoznik, Janet Niknam, James Provoznik (Pam) and Theresa Bornas (Chuck); seven grandchildren; many great and great-great-grandchildren; brothers and sisters living in Japan.


The Mass of Christian Burial will take place Wednesday, May 19, 2021
at 10 a.m. at St. Vincent de Paul Church, 41295 N. Ridge Rd., Elyria. The family will receive friends at the church from 9 to 10 a.m. on Wednesday. Burial will follow at St. Mary Cemetery.
